CP Industries announces participation in steel study

McKeesport, PA – CP Industries has announced that their Chief Metallurgist and Director of Quality Assurance, Gary Hayden, has contributed information regarding heat treated materials in various strength levels and related processing information to support a study conducted by Sandia National Laboratory in Livermore, California.
The completed 120-page study, Measurement and Interpretation of threshold stress intensity factors for steels in high-pressure hydrogen gas, evaluated behavior of certain steels in high pressure hydrogen environments. The intent of the study was to provide information which would be useful in the design of hydrogen containment structures.
